His life story
Sergeant first class (res.) Ohad Ashur the son of Mali Malka and David, brother to Ori and Rotem. a former team member and the captain in 2018. Born on November 7th 2000 in Kfar Yona.
Ohad, a graduate of the six-year 'Ish Shalom' school, was a beloved and significant captain of the team in 2018 and the field player in 2017. Always ready to help with patience and understanding, he was affectionately called 'our ginger'. One of our finest.
From the moment Ohad joined the robotics team in the 7th grade, he really stood out, a promising young talent.
The kids in the 9th grade would ask him how to do things. He mentored them with a smile and super professionalism.
When he was asked what he was going to do in the army, he replied 'only combat' and invested his time in training. He was a thin kid, he built himself up and became strong.
Even after his service, he came to visit our workshop and helped the team and mentor team members. Always with a smile and ready to take on anything.
Ohad was a trainee in 5 fingers, a combat fitness movement. Before Ohad finished his journey through the program, he wrote down:
"The coaches at Five Fingers didn't teach me how to influence, that's something that varies from person to person. What I got from Five Fingers was a place that pushes people to be influential, caring, excellent, and an environment that allows you to experiment with that."
On October 7, 2023, Ohad enlisted in the reserves and served in the infantry. Sergeant Ohad Ashur fell in battle on the 23rd of December 2023 at the age of 23. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Kfar Yona cemetery.
May his memory be a blessing.
